WARD, RONALD REEL "RONNIE" Ronald Reel "Ronnie" Ward, 89, of Cape May Court House and Mays Landing at the Fairways, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, just two weeks short of his 90th birthday. Born in Philadelphia to Robert and Grace (Simmons) Ward, he graduated from high school in Orwigsburg, PA in 1952. Upon graduation he began his career as a PGA golf professional, a vocation he pursued passionately for 72 years. He started in the Poconos at Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, followed by the Ponce de Leon Country Club, St. Augustine, FL. He then returned north to the Atlantic City Country Club, spent over 25 years with the Wildwood Country Club, and completed his tenure in golf at the Mays Landing Country Club. He was predeceased by his parents, his siblings, Doug and Muriel, his wife of 57 years, Irene (Jurcsek) Ward and daughter Dr. Kelly Ward. He is survived by his children, Valerie (Joe) McGrail of Denver, Colorado, Denise (Bill) Lawrence of Boulder, Colorado, Jeff Ward of Cape May Court House/New York City, Shawn (Gina) Ward of Naples, Florida, Dr. Michael (Kathy) Ward of Smithfield, North Carolina and son-in-law Gene Solomon of Moscow, Idaho; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Mary Ellen Davies and Genesis of North Cape May for the great care they provided. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
