WADAGA, JOHN F. John F. Wadaga of Cape May Court House, NJ passed away peacefully with family by his side on March 30, 2024. John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rose, parents Frank and Theresa and two brothers, James and Thomas. Surviving are stepchildren John, Trish (Pio) and Kathy (Drew) as well as five siblings, Barbara, Therese, Peter, Paul and Pauline. John is also survived by his 5 grand-children and 3 great grand-children and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. John made many loyal friends during his lifetime and touched the hearts of all those fortunate to know him. John kept in daily contact with family and friends, typically through handwritten letters. John dedicated his youth to the Salvatorian seminary by teaching and mentoring countless students, fondly known as the "Blackwood Boys." John maintained friendships with his students that lasted a lifetime. In his middle years, John served as a pastor, before becoming a social worker. After retirement, John continued to reach out to the poor through his peace and social justice ministry at Our Lady of Angels Church. He was particularly proud of his work alongside fellow parishioners to help build a sustainable village in Haiti. A church lector and choir member at OLA for many years, John was deeply devoted to his spiritual faith and believed that God is all around us. An athlete all his life, John rode a bike until he was 95. John loved skiing, canoeing, basketball, football, baseball and just about every other sport. A people person, John loved to talk to everyone he met. A man of prayer and action, John was a hard worker who would help anyone in need. John's sense of humor and smile will be missed by us all. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Our Lady of the Angels Church in Cape May Court House, NJ.
