VANDERSLICE, GEORGE W. George W. Vanderslice, 81, of Goshen/Cape May Court House, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023. He was born in Salem, NJ to George Vanderslice and Mary Bryant Vanderslice. He was self-employed in heavy construction and known as Dirty George by many due to his job digging in dirt or covered in oil from mechanic work. His youthful years were spent in Salem, NJ. He was a Little League baseball coach, an active volunteer firefighter for the City of Salem, NJ, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Organization where he was involved in many charity functions. When he was not working or volunteering, he loved to spend time on the water fishing and the evenings playing league darts with friends. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeannette; sons Donald, Eric, and Todd Vanderslice; daughter Lorraine and Ken Overcash; sister Linda Vanderslice; niece Margo Burke and her family; grandson Conner Overcash; brothers in law and sisters in law and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Laura and Ernie Hathaway. A celebration of life for family and close friends will be held on his birthday, December 23, 2023 from 12:00-3:00pm at the Villas VFW, 6 East Delaware Parkway, Villas, NJ 08251.
