Unsanctioned Wildwood Pop-up Beach Party Cancelled

From Wildwood Police Department

WILDWOOD – The Wildwood Police Department issued the following statement on its Facebook page around 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12:

“The Wildwood Police Department is aware of a social media post promoting a beach pop-up party for this weekend. We have taken preemptive measures to prevent this group from organizing this unsanctioned event and have identified the organizers. Due to these preemptive efforts the organizers have cancelled the event on their social media sites.

“We are working with local and state agencies to promptly shut down this unsanctioned event, if it takes place, and to hold all participants accountable. We encourage all rental property owners and motel owners in Wildwood to use extra precautions when renting during this weekend. These groups are known to take over rental properties and cause property damage. We will provide additional information to the public as warranted.”
