COURT HOUSE – There were 25,536 ballots cast in the general election Tuesday, Nov. 7, out of 75,689 registered voters. Turnout was nearly 34%, according to the Cape May County Clerk’s Office.

The following are unofficial results compiled by the Cape May County Clerk’s Office. They include tallies from early voting, mail-in ballots received by the Board of Elections before the close of the polls and Election Day machine voting. They do not include provisional ballots or mail-in ballots which are timely postmarked by Election Day but not yet received.

Timely postmarked mail-in ballots received by Monday, Nov. 13, and provisional ballots will be included in an updated tally Monday, Nov. 20, after the deadline for responses to cure letters (Saturday, Nov. 18) has passed. Mail-in ballot voters who have not completed or signed their certification envelope are sent a cure letter from the Board of Elections informing the voter of the defect.

The clerk’s office said it expects to post official results Wednesday, Nov. 22, after the Board of County Canvassers meets to certify the election.
