Third Multi-Tenant Building Moves Forward at Cape May Airport

A third commercial, multi-tenant light industrial building is to be constructed at the Cape May County Airport.

From Delaware River and Bay Authority

Construction Expected to Start Next Month

ERMA – Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) Commissioners recently approved funding for the construction of a third commercial, multi-tenant light industrial building at the Cape May Airport (WWD).  The estimated project cost is $5.5 million. This building will join two similar structures that are fully leased and occupied. Construction is expected to begin next month and is anticipated to be completed in late Spring of 2025.

“During the past ten years, the Cape May Airport has been a hub for economic expansion,” said DRBA Executive Director Thomas J. Cook. “Working hand-in-hand with our Cape May County partners, we’re focused on creating an environment conducive for businesses of all types to be successful. We continue to see strong demand from the business community for space at the Airport. Our teamwork approach is producing results.”

Similar to the first two structures built on Ranger Road, the third multi-tenant light industrial building, which will sit on the opposite side of Ranger Road across from its predecessors, is a total of 15,000SF and comprised of ten units. Designed by C&S Companies, Arthur J. Ogren, Inc. will be performing the work including sitework, stormwater management, pavement, and utilities.

Since assuming operational control of Cape May Airport on June 8, 1999, the Delaware River and Bay Authority has made significant capital investments at the general aviation facility. In addition to constructing two similar light industrial, multi-tenant commercial buildings, the Authority embarked on a new airport terminal building located at the end of Hornet Road in May 2023.

The Airport is home to the renowned craft brewery, Cape May Brewing Company, the Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Museum, the Flight Deck Diner, and multiple local favorite retail outlets popular with residents and tourists. For information on prospective business opportunities at Cape May Airport, please contact Ms. Michelle Griscom at (302) 571-6482 or via email at michelle.griscom@drba.net.
