The Wildwood Civic Club: Making a Difference in Our Community

Sponsored Content

When it comes to enriching the lives of others, the Wildwood Civic Club has been making a difference since the organization was established in 1912. These remarkable dedicated women have been focused on giving, creating opportunities, and forging cooperation through education, leadership and community service.

The Wildwood Civic Club offers financial and in-kind support for much needed community programs such as CARA, Lazarus House, Boardwalk Basketball Classic, Cape May County Zoo, Volunteers in Medicine, the John Walter Band, local Food Banks, and free lunch programs, to name a few.

With its historic focus on youth education and development, the Wildwood Civic Club awards Scholarships to graduating seniors from local high schools. In a special program created by the Wildwood Civic Club, one 8th-grade student from each elementary school is selected by their teacher and recognized for distinctive achievement.

“It is a thrill and honor to work with and serve alongside so many creative and devoted women,” stated Kim McWilliams, President of the Wildwood Civic Club. “For one-hundred and thirteen years, women of the Wildwood Civic Club, organized and sponsored our annual Wildwood Baby Parade which is regarded as the highlight of all Jersey Shore activities,” Kim added. “Furthermore”, said Kim, “we recognize future trailblazers from our community through our pageant-style Queen Oceania program. In addition to overseeing the Parade festivities, these young women embody the spirit of the Wildwoods demonstrating poise, determination, education, positive personality and character, and as role models to their peers. As Wildwood Ambassadors, Queen Oceania and her court emanate responsible leadership.”

If you are the type of person who is curious but not judgmental, strives to seek solutions to problems, and enjoys serving the community, then perhaps you would find working with the women of the Wildwood Civic Club personally rewarding.
