Swimming in Sunset Lake

By Brad Kenyon, Wildwood

To the Editor:

Now that Sunset Lake has reopened, our community has a wonderful opportunity to expand recreational options in the Wildwoods. No motors, sails, or paddles needed. Just a suit, goggles, and a cap.

Having swum in Sunset Lake frequently a few summers ago, I enjoyed the water, the views, and most of all, the swimming.

Next to walking, swimming is the second favorite form of exercise in the U.S. The ocean is great for many types of water sports, but sustained swimming requires sufficient depth, a clear path, and the cooperation of the tides and currents. Sunset Lake would be a perfect alternative!
