Summer is Sizzlin’ at the Cape May Point Science Center!

Come tour the Cape May Point Science Center. Tours can be booked in advance, but walk-ins are welcome! Join us every day (except Tuesdays) at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. for tours!

Budding Artists Series with Peaches Lukens – Wednesdays July 31, August 7, August 14 & August 21 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Designed for young artists ages 10-17 to explore several different mediums including pencil, pen & ink, brush markers, colored pencils, watercolors and acrylics, plus touch on calligraphy, script, nature journaling and personal picture books. Come for just one or two days, or sign up for the whole 4-week session (July 31-August 21). All materials provided!

Nature Journaling for Adults – Thursday, July 25 and Monday August 19 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Art teacher Peaches Lukens will introduce you to several different media for exploring the natural world through art, and give you plenty of time to use your new skills in our stunning pollinator garden. All materials are provided including a spiral bound journal for you to keep. Just bring your love of art and nature!

Family Science Night – Thursday, August 8 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Meet live reptiles, decorate your own nature journal, design a whale tail and name it, make pollinator seed bombs, play a science sorting game, go on a scavenger hunt and more! This fun-filled program is designed for families to discover science together!

Third Thursday Lunchtime Lecture Series – Thursday August 15 from 12 to 1 p.m.

Local naturalist, Aidan Griffiths, presents South Texas: Birding the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Aidan will take you on a photographic journey of the hot spots of one of the great American birding areas where he spent six months as a bird guide. Bring your lunch. Stargazing with Dr. Frank Toriello. – Monday August 12 and Saturday August 24 from 8 to 10 p.m.

Learn about the night sky with local astronomer and astrophysics professor Frank T. from ACCC. Telescopes, celestial binoculars and helpful volunteers will help you navigate the heavens in our beautiful outdoor courtyard. Perseid Meteor Shower Edition on Monday 8/12!
