SLOVAK, HELEN COMPTON Our dear mother Helen Compton Slovak passed from this life on November 27, 2023 at the age of 96. She was born in Philadelphia on January 26, 1927 and graduated high school in New Brunswick in 1945. She married Benjamin Slovak on July 2,1950 and together raised their four sons in East Brunswick. She retired with her husband to Cape May Court House, NJ. She was loved by many and remembered for her generosity and kind words of encouragement towards her sons and their families leaving many fond memories of her humorous wit. She enjoyed singing in choirs, writing poetry, short stories, and oil painting. Her writing was published under her pen name Helen Howard. After raising her children, she worked as a Legal Secretary and was a Notary Public. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Annie Compton, siblings, Mildred Heuscher, Donald Compton, Norman Compton, Richard Compton, William Compton, Grace Best, and son Charles Slovak and her husband of 67 years. She is survived by sons Benjamin, James and Theodore, and 10 grand-children, Nicole, Stacy, Brittney, Stephanie, Caroline, Gloria, Rachel, Jonathan, Jessica and Janelle and, 8 great grandchildren, Noah, Fionna, Korra, Connor, Amelia, Eloise, Josephine and Vivienne.
