SIMMONS, MARGARET G. Margaret Genevieve Simmons, 80 years of age, passed away peacefully at the Crossroads at Bon Air assistant living facility in Richmond, Virginia, March 23, 2024. Miss Simmons was born at Margaret Mace North Wildwood, NJ on August 6, 1943. She lived in Brooklyn, NY and is formerly of West Cape May, NJ; moved to Glen Allen, VA in 2023 to live with her sister, Bonnie. Miss Simmons graduated in 1963 from Lower Cape May Regional. She furthered her education, attending business school in Camden, NJ where she earned an associate degree in business. Prior to her retirement in February of 2019, Miss Simmons worked at HPD in Manhattan, New York City, NY for the Department of Housing Preservation for 34-1/2 years. Miss Simmons was predeceased by her beloved son, Eric Robert Simmons; parents, Lucion and Anna (Major) Simmons; sister, Lucienne Rebecca Hall. She is survived by her siblings, Bonnie, Maxine and Maria; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Miss Simmons Celebration of Life, Homecoming Ceremony will be held 11am, Monday, April 1, 2024 at First Assembly of God Church, 1068 Seashore Rd., Cape May, NJ where her viewing will be offered from 10am 11am. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ. Repass will follow in Macedonia, Baptist Church Lafayette St., Cape May, NJ at approximately 1:30pm.
