Sea Isle Mayor Says Beach Replenishment Start is Imminent

SEA ISLE CITY – Mayor Leonard Desiderio announced that the city will see the start of its important beach replenishment project as soon as next week but certainly by mid-March. Desiderio said that schedule follows a project meeting with the contractor, Great Lakes Dredge and Dock, and the Army Corps of Engineers. He made the announcement at the Feb. 27 City Council meeting.

The beaches that will receive sand are between 29th and 52nd streets downtown and 74th and 94th streets in the south end. Desiderio added that the contractor expects to start in the south end with the full project to be completed prior to Memorial Day weekend.
