Construction work begins on Sea Isle City’s dog park.

SEA ISLE CITY – If all goes according to plan, Sea Isle City’s dogs will have a place of their own by the peak of the next summer season. The city’s contractor, Fred M. Schiavone, of Malaga, broke ground on the park site by driving pilings for the three shade pavilions that are part of the design.

The new home for man’s best friend will be located at the city’s north end on Landis Avenue around 7th Street. The adjacent parking lots constructed in 2019 will provide convenient parking. The location, backing up to the marshes, was selected to ensure noise from the park is not a burden on residences.

The park will have two areas offering accommodations for small and large dogs, with two shade pavilions for the dogs and one for the humans they bring with them.

Fred M. Schiavone’s winning bid for the project was $967,931.
