ROBINSON, FRANK

ROBINSON, FRANK
Franklin “Tink” Robinson, passed away on November 26, 2024 at the age of 95 surrounded by his loving daughters. Born on November 14, 1929 in Clayton, NJ to Leaming and Ruth (Hoffman) Robinson, he was the youngest of their 9 children. He moved to Dennisville, NJ in the 6th grade, completing the elementary grades in Dennis Township. A 1948 graduate of Middle Township High School, he excelled in both football and baseball, earning this saying in the yearbook, “Rough and tough, ain't that enough?”. In 1951, he married his high school sweetheart and “girl next door,” Helen “Doris” Schmitt. Soon after, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War until 1953. Dad was a man of service not only to his country but to his community as well. He was a Life Member of the Dennis Volunteer Fire Company and a volunteer umpire for youth baseball. Dad began his work life as an electrician with the Pennsylvania Reading Seashore Line Railroad and later worked for Conrail. He was also employed as a union electrician by local IBEW #98, working on Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia and the Philadelphia subway projects. But above all else, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A hard worker, he provided for his family, allowing Doris to be a stay-at-home mother to their six daughters. After retirement, he enjoyed time with his family and friends, especially Loren, Freddy, Pete, and Tommy, with many hours spent playing cards or just sitting in the car with a cup of Wawa coffee talking and “solving the problems of the world.”
Predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Doris, he is survived by his six daughters, Holly Robinson, Vickie Trout (Ron), Kelly Cramer (Bob), Tracey Robinson, Jacqueline Justice (JJ), and Heidi Conforto (Michael), as well as his grandchildren, Stacey Palumbo (Teddy), Dylan Justice (Stef), Andrew Conforto (Aubri), Maddie Justice, Jeff Trout (Marie), Matthew Trout (Lindsey), and Michael Trout (Lisa) as well as his sister, Elsie Grieco of Pittsburgh, PA. He will be greatly missed by his great-grandsons, Tanner and Carson Palumbo who loved their Poppy dearly.
You'll be missed Dad, but you've earned your rest.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ, where viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, South Dennis. Memorial donations may be made to Dennis Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 21, Dennisville, NJ 08214.
