Robert A. Rittenhouse, 94, of Seaville, NJ passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 25, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Albert B. and Elizabeth M. (nee Sasse) Rittenhouse.
He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War.
He was the Post Master for the Stone Harbor Post Office for 31 years before his retirement in 1988.
Robert enjoyed skiing, sailing, fishing, playing pinochle, traveling and spending time with his family.
Mr. Rittenhouse along with his wife June owned and operated G & R Hoagie Shop in Ocean City and started Village Kitchen in 1973 and operated it for three years.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife: June Rittenhouse, granddaughter: Jennifer Tobin and great grandson: Noah Sparks.
Surviving are his children: Dorothy (William) Tobin, Raymond (Janice) Rittenhouse, Sharon Freed, Elizabeth Hendrickson, and Donna Rittenhouse.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Kim Whittaker, Tara Sparks, Shawn Rittenhouse, Amy Rittenhouse, Robert Hendrickson, Kristin Hendrickson, and Brandon Rittenhouse
As well as, ten great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 11 o'clock at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ where his viewing will begin at 10 o'clock until time of service.
Burial will follow in Seaside Cemetery, Palermo, NJ.
