To the Editors,
I see that the Herald is reaching out to the community for support, and I want to offer a suggestion. Why not reach out directly to Herald subscribers and ask for their ideas on how to grow your readership and strengthen community support?
You’ve spoiled us for so long that I think many of us take the Herald for granted.
You do so much to keep us informed, and I believe there are many grassroots supporters like me who deeply value your work. If you asked the community how we might help – whether through spreading the word, sharing ideas, subscribing to the paper or other forms of support – I think you’d be surprised by how many people would step up.
Maybe you could even start a podcast, something casual and community-driven, like interviewing people out on the promenade. It could be a great way to gather input and keep the conversation going.
I care deeply about the Herald and what it means to this community. I believe there are many others who feel the same.
Together, we can rally around the paper and ensure that the Herald remains a vital institution and grows ever stronger in the decades to come.
As they say: Fight the good fight.
