Towns Need to Regulate Vulgar T-shirts on Wildwood Boardwalk

By Joyce Mollure, North Wildwood

To the Editor:

I’m so happy to finally see some attention being paid to the issue of vulgar T-shirts on the Wildwood Boardwalk. I cannot believe it took this long for the mayor and commissioners to address it.

It’s amazing how it took people to send photos of the stores and messaging. It would be nice if the mayors of both towns (Wildwood and North Wildwood) would frequent these areas to see not only what us homeowners see, but also our tourists who are paying good money to be here.

Visit Point Pleasant boardwalk and Ocean City and the stores are appealing and clean. Ours are a disgrace. The cities definitely need to put an ordinance in place for all to comply and also enforce. They also need to walk the boards earlier in the season to smell the weed and enforce the no-smoking ban as well. We all want to have a great town and one that prospers.
