PRESS, CATHERINE
Catherine Press, lovingly known as “Kay”, of Cape May Courthouse, NJ, passed away on July 1, 2024, at the age of 80.
Kay was married to the late John R. Press, with whom she shared a son, the late Keith R. Press.
Born in Philadelphia, Kay was the daughter of the late Louis and Matilda McCarthy (Ripple).
Kay was a lighthearted person who had a unique sense of humor. She was always quick to smile. She was very thoughtful, a good friend, and a good listener. She was a wife, mother, stepmother, foster mother, and a loving Aunt. She lived in Palm Bay, Florida for many years, but her heart was always at the Jersey shore, especially on the beaches of Wildwood and Wildwood Crest. She was a friend to everyone she met. She had an extensive collection of lighthouses, and loved cats, taking care of many in her lifetime. Her eyes were the most striking shade of blue.
Kay dearly loved her son, Keith.
Kay is survived by her nieces and nephews (Christoper Metzger, Donna Findley, Eric Metzger, Elizabeth Hauk, and Michelle Henry), her dear cousin, Alma Boyle, and her loving stepdaughter, Cindy McDermott. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to call her a friend.
In addition to her husband and son, Kay was preceded in death by her brother, Edward F. Metzger.
