POMBO, THERESA
Theresa Pombo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the age of 85 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to James and Elizabeth Searle in Philadelphia, PA in 1939. She grew up in a close-knit Catholic family near St. Peter's Parish in Philadelphia, where her love for family was shaped. She graduated from Little Flower High School in 1957. She worked for Byberry State Mental Hospital until relocating to Cape May County in 1976. She continued a career in social services until retirement from the State of New Jersey Housing Assistance Program. She had a passion for cooking, preparing large meals and hosting family gatherings, home decorating, nature, history, and gardening. She was a loyal fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, Phillies, and Eagles. She had a quick wit and an amazing sense of humor. She loved to laugh. Her legacy of kindness, selflessness, and generosity lives on in those of the lives she touched and those who loved her.
Theresa met Vincent C. Pombo, the love of her life, in 1978. They were together for 46 wonderful years and married for 42 of those years. She is survived by her husband Vincent and their five children: Lisa Nuxoll (John Spencer), Karen Hynes (Jason Hynes), Stephanie Pombo, Brian Pombo (Amy Pombo), and Vincent P. Pombo. Theresa also leaves behind her six cherished grandchildren: Jacob (Kyle), Megan (James), Kelly (Richard), Emma, Hayden, and Elizabeth. She also had a loving extended family and friends, including her best friend of 55 years, Sylvia.
Theresa will forever be deeply missed and remembered always by those she touched.
Services will be Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
