Writer Supports ‘Social Justice,’ ‘Tax the Rich’

By Canderan

To The Editor:
Al Campbell’s column in the June 23 Herald was disappointing, as to his usual fairness.
He spoke of the “American Dream being attainable.” This is true in cases where they did make it big, but many others don’t get the chance; it could be sick-ness of children, aging parents, women alone trying to hold a family together that removed their dream. They live with very little income (many in our area). Most poor folks do not aspire to “have all that the rich have,” but need community help with health care, child care, ho better schools. That help comes from taxes. Supporting a higher tax on millionaires seems to be a moral obligation.
