To The Editor:
A recent event at the Senior Center in Lower Township has disturbed and upset many seniors who frequent the facility.
I am an unpaid volunteer who works in the kitchen. My immediate supervisor, the nutrition site manager, who is loved by all seniors who go there, is no longer heading that department or section here at the senior center in Villas.
It appears that someone at the Department of Aging has decided to rotate these managers at each center throughout the county.
Why is this necessary? All of the seniors know this manager, and think so highly of her. She has worked with these people for 20 years (having worked at the airport prior to the opening of the center here in Villas). Why would anyone want to upset these people who enjoy such a comfort zone with someone? She understands their moods and knows their physical capabilities. They are seniors. Seniors need consistency, and they are extremely upset.
Who came up with this brainstorm? Not to mention the fact that she and her counterparts will now have to drive an excessive amount of miles to get to work. When something works, don’t fix it. Seems like someone is just trying to show that they are the boss…or what?
