To The Editor:
Regarding Sen. Robert Menendez’s letter in response to the publisher’s column, I couldn’t believe it when he said America will save billions with Obama’s new health care plan which was bribed and bullied through.
Anyone who passed eighth grade should know that’s impossible with such a massive expansion of government benefits and bureaucracy. As sure as the sun rises tomorrow we will get a national sales tax on top of income taxes, like the European VAT (value added) tax currently at 19 percent in Germany, 20 percent in France and Italy, and 25 percent throughout Scandinavia. What was he thinking?
