To The Editor:
“We have not made our message clear; we have not gotten our message out to the people; we must educate the people about our message; and we just haven’t done a good enough job in explaining our message to the public.”
These are the common excuses Democrats use when they are not popular and their political views aren’t credible. These excuses presuppose that the bulk of voters would change their minds about them if only they understood their message. What they fail to realize or refuse to acknowledge is that the voters do get their message and they understand it quite well and they don’t like it.
Republicans, should they gain control of the Congress, have no reason to get over-confident because it will not be business as usual. The voters will still be upset and they will hold all elected officials accountable regardless of who wields the gavel. This will be the big change after this election because holding officials feet to the fire will no longer be just words but will become a reality, and many of them will feel the pinch.
So if the message is unpopular maybe it is because the voters do understand the message and they don’t like it…and it is egregiously arrogant to assume that we the people are dumb or stupid.
