Voter Questions Harron’s Move from Republican to Democrat

By Nancy Hickson, North Cape May

To the Editor:
Political rhetoric can be so misleading! I have been a lifelong member of the Republican Party because I espouse to its values.
Needless to say, I found it very disconcerting when candidate Richard Harron, a former Republican, lost the nomination for sheriff at the county convention and disrespected the entire process by simply jumping parties and becoming a Democrat. It makes you wonder what else he would be willing to compromise and throw out the window.
Lately, I have heard him say that he is an independent thinker, emphasis on the word ‘independent.’ He reminds me of the old-time carpet baggers who sought to enter an election in an area where they had no ties or connections. That’s what I would call a loose cannon and someone who is self-driven.
I prefer proven leadership in Bob Nolan.
