To the Editor:
To the voters of Wildwood Crest: Every community at the shore is competing for tourists. We all have the ocean. We all have a beach; we like to think our beach is the best. There is a playground, a bike path, and a concert venue in every town.
The island will add to our attraction. Pacific Avenue will benefit. Our residents know to stop and let people cross. The island will make it safer to cross. Traffic will have to slow down. Property owners on Pacific Avenue will benefit.
The money budgeted for Pacific Avenue is more for infrastructure, the island will not cost $2 million. In business, debt is not always bad. It can also be an investment.
Let us get behind our government to attract more tourists to our community. On Jan. 26, please vote ‘Yes’ for the island on Pacific Avenue.
