To the Editor:
State Sen. Jeff Van Drew (D-1st) is a man of integrity. Lord knows we need people of such “ilk” in Washington at this time.
He is a respectful listener and sincerely relates to all of his constituents, Democrat, Republican, conservative, or progressive. He would be an untiring advocate for the people of his congressional district. But will this genuinely “good guy” risk the Washington mess?
It is a tough decision and it would certainly be much easier to “stay clear.” However, in difficult, trying times, good people often find the will to stand up.
These are trying times. These are the times that will challenge good men and women to fend off the “dirt” of Washington.
I believe our congressional district would be in safe hands with Van Drew as our congressman. I hope he decides to run!
ED. NOTE: Van Drew announced Nov. 29 that he will be running for Congress in New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District in 2018. See announcement here.
