Even though we haven’t met yet
I would like to say hello.
The way you move about tells me that
you hear all that I say.
I don’t care what you are it’s
that you are here that counts.
By the time you do enter the confusions
of life, I only hope peace will be found.
I want to prepare you my child into
a conflicting world you will enter.
It will be kind, it will be cruel
but my child that’s what life is all about.
I don’t care what you are
just be kind and gentle.
Be rough and tough only if you have to
stand up to your beliefs, and only if the
truth is told.
Be brave and true to what your calling is
and if you love one, you must love all.
You can think for yourself without having
to be told.
So my child you’ll be thinking on your
own when you come out…
