‘U. S. Needs to Lighten the Load’

By Pugliese

To The Editor:
I truly believe that all Americans concerned with the subject of illegal immigration in the United States realize the following concerning the two major political parties:
The Democratic Party is looking to illegal immigration for the purposes of obtaining cheap and easy votes, while the Republican Party is looking to illegal immigration for the purpose of obtaining cheap and easy labor. In the middle of it all, are men and women that, in my estimation, are allowing themselves to be used and taken advantage of. I find this disgusting and revolting.
Concerning the borders both north and south, I believe that all efforts should be made to secure them. I know that many in the mainstream press and elsewhere will say that this is not necessary; however, with external threats being made against the U.S. everyday by foreign enemies and terrorists, this must be done to secure the lives and liberties of the American people. After that, the U.S. must allow and pave the way for legislation for the support of a guest worker program as well as supporting legislation making it easier for an individual and family to become U.S. citizens. As of now, the process is made very difficult. The U.S. needs to lighten the load a little bit.
In the meantime, my message to illegal immigrants and all immigrants is following: a) do not allow yourselves to be used by any political party, politician or entity; b) do not in any way place all your loyalty in one political party or another; c) do not place your loyalty in any political or social group; and d) remember that you are all individuals entitled with rights to think, speak and do for yourselves.
Let freedom ring.
