To the Editor:
I don’t know about anyone else, but I find this presidential election the most “childish” I’ve ever seen. It looks more like a “floor show,” or perhaps a “vaudeville act.”
We tell our children, “don’t be a bully, don’t call people names, you wouldn’t like it, be honest, and accept responsibility for your actions.” Then you watch the debates. They look like children fighting in a sand box; doing exactly the opposite of what you want your children to learn. Name calling, violence, intimidation, and in general bad behavior. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.
For their behavior, we would have been banished to our rooms, and in those days, there wasn’t anything in your room but furniture. How do you expect a child to learn when they see that type of behavior?
This election has become some type of “circus,” all that’s missing is the popcorn and soda pop; we already have a front row seat.
Who would want the leader of our nation to be rude, arrogant and obnoxious, to “bully” other leaders of the world? Haven’t we seen enough of that? It wouldn’t surprise me if the people of other nations in this world were following this election, and thinking to themselves, “What a joke! This is the best that the U.S. has to offer?”
I suppose, depending on who wins, is how the rest of the world will see us; not only the world, but the people of this nation. Can anyone remember growing up and hearing “work hard, be honest, care about others, be responsible for your actions, and one day, you could be president and make this country greater than it already is?” But from what we’ve seen, our future looks unsure. It’s frightening; I can’t be the only one who feels this way.
We certainly don’t need someone who can “showboat,” and has absolutely no idea what they are doing. Using misdirection and chaos to avoid the fact that they are not qualified for the position. Don’t we have enough of that?
Since we vote for whom we feel is right and capable of leading our nation, perhaps we should look between the lines, do a little research. To be perfectly honest, it doesn’t matter who is elected, I’d vote for Mickey Mouse, if I was sure in my heart that he was the one to lead us, to bring us out of this chaos, to make this nation the best it can be for everyone!
Most of this violence in this world is because people are frustrated. They elect officials who they believe will do their best to improve situations; when they don’t, people take matters into their own hands, adding to the rest of the anarchy. Some people like it this way, ones who will have something to lose, the rest of us are so busy trying to survive, that we don’t have time to actually think about this, but since this involves not only our future, but the future of our children, perhaps we better look a little harder! Vote for who is the most capable, not the most popular.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
