To The Editor:
The attached compensation reflects the approxi-mate yearly gross wages of the top 15 Lower Town-ship municipal employees. Add to these figures the following (annually): average health care package to the tune of $16,570; pension benefits of $19,667; plus 6 percent of their gross wages for Social Secu-rity. Remember, this is yearly.
Upon retirement after 25 years of service, they re-ceive 65 percent of their wages plus health care for them, their spouse and soon under the Federal Health Care program, their children until the age of 26.
Do we have a good police department? Yes, we do. The problem does not lie with them but with the denial to realize the inability of Lower Township residents to maintain or sustain this out-of- control benefit and pay scale. The information provided is public knowledge and available by accessing Lower Township’s Web site.
