This Former Mayor Nixes Candidate Voll

By Doughty

To the Editor:
I feel compelled to set the record straight about the lies, innuendos and half-truths being spread by Middle Township Committee candidate Mike Voll concerning the purchase of the Cape May Court House FireHouse.
Voll, who advocated purchasing the firehouse during his 18-year tenure on Township Committee is all of a sudden against it. This building and parking lot, which is directly adjacent to Township Hall is already being used by numerous township departments including the police department.
While Voll would have you believe Township Committee did something improper, the record reflects that the acquisition was done according to the letter of the law. That being said, Voll is now a critic of the township and the dedicated firefighters who sold it. I find it interesting that VoII never attended any one of the three public hearings, which were advertised in the Herald newspaper listing the sale of the firehouse.
Moreover, Voll never attended any of the District One Fire Commissioners meetings to express his opposition either. VoII, who has always been the ultimate “grandstander” may have been at his home in Florida where he claimed the Florida Homestead Exemption or at his home in Rio Grande where he claimed the New Jersey Homestead Rebate.
If Voll wants to make integrity the issue, maybe he should look in the mirror.
