They Are the Champions

Letters to the Editor 2019

By Richard Nelson, West Cape May

To the Editor:
Cape May, West Cape May, and Cape May Point police and fire personnel and EMTs were the guests of Cape May VFW Post 386 and Cape May American Legion Post 193 for an appreciation dinner March 26.
These men and women are a vital part of the community in which it seems never a day or night goes by without the wail of horns of fire trucks traveling down Lafayette Street in Cape May or on Broadway in West Cape May or police and EMTs’ sirens on the way to an accident or a more serious matter.
Then, there is the summer season with the many situations at the beach that sometimes includes police, fire and EMTs.
Needless to say, it was fitting to acknowledge all these departments by showing our appreciation for what they do every day and every night of every year. They are truly the champions of our towns.
