The Human Condition

By Gerald Sieber, Swainton

To the Editor:
Forty-two percent of American households are considered dysfunctional. Dysfunctional means they engage in unhealthy, abnormal behavior. They don’t follow any rules or laws, and discipline in their dwelling is called domestic violence or child abuse.
The dysfunctional are the stars of “The Jerry Spring Show.” They proudly tell the sordid details of their mix-and-match relationships, and when they start pointing fingers and screaming at the one responsible for ending the love, there is an eruption of violence – screaming, slapping, punching, kicking, and hair pulling.
The audience becomes frenzied as they encourage the combatants for more. For the TV-viewing audience, this is considered entertainment.
The dysfunctional are celebrated again on the “Maury Show” with a different venue. Maury cleverly builds the drama by having congenial dialogue with his guests.
The conversation goes something like this: “Now, John, you have already fathered 13 children by three different women. Do you feel as though Joanna’s pregnancy could be your 14th?”
John vehemently denies the child is his. At the same time, the recipient swears it’s his.
The audience is starting to get noisy because they know the DNA envelope is in Maury’s hands. Maury opens the envelope and to the audience’s jubilation announces, “John, you are the father.”
Wow, what a man. This really doesn’t put much value on the unborn child; you know, the ones we’re always trying to save. Once again, wholesome American entertainment.
I would like to invite all the dysfunctional to my show. It’s called “Save The Children.” All my guests would receive free vasectomies and tubal ligations.
The dysfunctional produce litters of children that are major contributors to the violent world we live in. Flash mobs, mall brawls, bullying, etc. This group is capable of very sick behavior.
Why do you suppose all the products you buy have plastic strips to alert you to possible tampering? It’s not just part of the packaging.
We’re experiencing a national opioid epidemic and to celebrate we have the light-hearted comedy show “Mom.” It’s about a drug-using, alcoholic mother who was never there for her daughter, and the daughter has become just like mom, who also has a troubled child. It’s hilarious (sarcasm).
The human condition was really exposed when comedian Kathy Griffin held a mock severed head of President Trump. This is satanic comedy, what next? A school-shooting comedy?
