To The Editor:
Last week’s story titled “Bad Teeth and Paint Brushes” has brought attention to the dental needs and artistic talent of a young boy, Kennedy, who lives in a very poor village in the Dominican Republic. I would like to thank everyone for the donations I have received so far for his dental work.
The donations will be sent through the church directly to the dentist in the Dominican Republic. Any funds raised over and above these costs will go to help other children in Kennedy’s village of San Marcos, Dominican Republic.
It is such a blessing to see how the simple art work of a 12-year-old in the Dominican Republic, and the generosity of many people here in Cape May County, can help improve Kennedy’s life and perhaps the lives of other children there. I can’t wait to return next year and see Kennedy’s new smile.
Readers can see Kennedy’s artwork on Sunday at 3 J’s Bowling in Wildwood from 2-4 p.m., where the Lighthouse Church will be having a fundraiser for the general Dominican Mission Fund.
To make a donation, send a check payable to Celebration Community Church, c/o Kathy Scholz, 6606 Pacific Ave., Wildwood Crest N.J. 08260. For further information, call me at 609-522-1659. Thanks you and God bless you all.
