To the American electorate, thanks for shifting the majority in the House and narrowing the gap in the Senate. Perhaps now we can slow the runaway Democratic juggernaut. Thanks too, for firing Nancy Pelosi as Speaker.
No thanks to the people of Nevada who burden us with another round of Harry Reid doubtless remaining Senate majority leader. And to the people of California for sending partisan lioness Barbara Boxer (who never met an entitlement or spending bill she didn’t like ) back to the Senate with her abrasive demeanor intact and an already inflated ego further puffed. Indeed Reid and Boxer are two good arguments for term limits as is Barney Frank who returns to the House to continue his bumbling power games ala the mortgage debacle.
Condolences to the State of California for tapping Jerry Brown as governor. He will probably administer the economic coup de grace to that state sending it financially plunging into the Pacific thereby beating the San Andreas fault to its physical destiny. Cuomo may aid New York’s financial collapse.
GOP types shouldn’t gloat. This was a referendum on the Democratic shenanigans of the past two years and Pres. Obama’s Progressive agenda not an endorsement of Republicans.
Will we see bipartisanship emerge? Out of necessity maybe. Parties with large majorities don’t tend to deal as we have seen. Bipartisanship is usually forced if and when, surrendering to pragmatism.
Will Harry Reid and John Boehner work together…more like stalk each other?
It will be interesting. One Democratic pollster suggested it is time for President Obama to show a little contrition or humility. What? His Nov. 3rd press conference showed none. He still thinks we don’t get it. But we do and don’t like what we see.
