To The Editor:
Have you heard from our elected council officials on how they intend to keep our taxes from increasing? You read the papers, you see all the surrounding municipalities’ elected officials with various negotiating to balance their budgets, not Lower, why?
They know the taxpayers are like milk cows and all they have to do is pull our udders and the milk flows. Can you keep giving away your milk to feed their good old boys mentality?
Wake up, speak up, attend the council meetings, school meetings to tell them there is no more milk. The taxpaying cows have gone dry. In other words, do your job and cut spending of the excesses in each township department.
The largest township taxes accrue from the school cost, and the schools use our children and grandchildren as their excuses. Their favorite saying is “It’s for our children,” no way. It’s to keep them in the milking system of the taxpayers.
Attend the school board meetings. They do not advertise them too much, only when it is school board elections. Then they send the children home with flyers. Stop falling for that use of your children. Attend their meetings and voice your opinions on control of your tax dollar.
If you like being milked dry by excessive taxes, then stay home and watch your elected officials keep the dog and pony show running; uncontrolled contracts and spending.
Taxpayers, we are being forced to cut our budgets and style of living to survive in this economy, and so should our township’s elected officers. If they don’t, remember them on election day and unload them.
