Now, look at the rate of COVID-19 infection. With a national population of 331 million and 2.1 million infections, the rate is much more frequent: one in 158. That means we are 4,747 times more likely to get infected by COVID-19 than be struck by lightning, but don’t panic.

COVID-19 is still a dangerous critter. Everyone should stay safe and take reasonable precautions.
You may be 4,747 times more likely to get infected by COVID-19 than getting struck by lightning, but you wouldn’t run around outside in a lightning storm, would you?
