To The Editor:
I am of the opinion that the housing administrators headquartered in Camden, are not concerned about the safety of its residents at Victorian Towers in Cape May.
The safety of its residents is in jeopardy due to the non-replacement of the tables that the residents use in their Community Room. These tables are at least 30 years old and have been collapsing on the residents while they are in use.
The management here at the “Towers” claim that the new tables have been waiting for approval for over two years from the Diocesan Housing Services, but management at the does not think this is a priority at this time. This statement was made to the President of the Tenant’s Association when she inquired as to the status of the new tables and chairs.
The condition of these tables has been brought to the attention of the old and new management for over two years. Given the age and frailty of the majority of the tenants, this is of great concern to me as a resident.
I hope and pray that I am not the tenant sitting at one of these unstable tables (there are 12) when it collapses. If I am, the Victorian Towers will most certainly have a new name.
