Supports Brannan for Reelection

By Erceg

To The Editor:
I know that Commissioner Al Brannen supported the hiring of a business administrator as a way of correcting problems in the way our city government was run. I know that Brannen supported the privatization of trash collection among other city services. I know that he has closed several animal houses and cited boardwalk businesses that have notoriously cheated visitors. I also know he is part of the team that has enacted several other changes, yet you would never know it when reading the present political ads that team DeMarzo has run. That’s the
nature of politics. Brannen is running independently in this election, however, and needs to be viewed for his unique strengths.
As a long-time Wildwood businessperson, I look for a representative in city government who studies and analyzes issues before acting. I look for someone who is willing to respond quickly and effectively to handle problems that occur. I have found Brannen to be of the more thoughtful, cooperative form of representation…quietly effective but very determined to correct problems. I have called on him several times with excellent results each time. If I have a question, he has the right person get in touch with me. It actually surprises me…immediate attention, correction of problems, good follow up as well. I know I am getting spoiled, or is this the way things should be?
I fully support Al Brannen’s re-election and anticipate more good governance in the future. I trust that those elected to lead Wildwood this year will be cut from the same cloth.
