Retired Sheriff’s Department Employee Backs Harron

By Larry Notch, Cape May

To the Editor:
I would like to respond to recent letters that were negative on Richard Harron, who is running for Cape May County sheriff.
I’m a retired New Jersey state trooper and recently retired from the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department. I worked in the Law Enforcement Department and served under three sheriffs, Jim Plousis, John Callinan, and Gary Shaffer for over 23 years.
I feel that over my years of service with the Sheriff’s Department, I gained valuable experience and insight as to the demanding job requirements needed for the office of sheriff. Contrary to what has been editorialized, I support Harron for sheriff. He is very well qualified and it is time to move forward in a positive direction.
Harron has all the necessary qualities needed for the office of sheriff. He is intelligent, trustworthy, responsible and a dedicated professional. I believe he will do a great job to unify and move the Sheriff’s Department forward, which will be an asset for Cape May County.
Based upon these beliefs, I urge all voters, whether they are Republican, Democrat, or independent, to join my wife and me in voting for Harron for sheriff of Cape May County.
