To the Editor:
I am writing in response to a letter published in the May 4 Herald which approved of three “politically-correct” views; that is the gay issue, global warming and judging.
The Old and New Testament of the Christian Bible roundly condemn homosexuality. There is no room for debate. See Leviticus 19:22, 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Timothy 1:10. All references are from the King James Bible, a translation light years ahead of all others for precision and scholarship.
The idea that “global warming” is man-made has been completely discredited except amongst those in power in the media, academe and politics. Climate has been changing since the Earth was formed. Instead of demonizing carbon dioxide, we should note that elevated levels of carbon dioxide lead to increased agricultural productivity.
“Global warming” is a natural, cyclical development and is not caused by the rise of greenhouse gases from man’s activity. The sun is responsible for the greater share of climate change during the past hundred years.
The desire by world leaders to replace fossil fuels is a policy of junk science hysteria to enrich crony capitalists and allow for more sever government regulation from the United Nations on down. Please check out www.heartland.org.
The letter writer, a non-Christian, is now assisting Christians in interpreting our own scriptures. He feels believers have no right to judge, citing one text in part, but read the whole of this teaching of Jesus at Matthew 7:1-2. Judging, in context, is approved in the New Testament. Note for instance John 7:24 where Jesus says, “Judge not according to the appearance but judge righteous judgement.” See also Luke 7:43; 1 Corinthians 5:12; Philippians 1:9.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
