To the Editor:
What kind of a country have we become? Wells Fargo employees are stealing customers’ money. A 30-year-old in North Korea is shooting off nuclear missiles and we are baffled as to how to deal with him.
Of course, Congress has been on vacation now for seven weeks – although they do very little anyway. We have a major election upcoming and I’m sure the Roosevelts, the Kennedys, and even Lincoln and Washington are spinning in their graves. Why? We have a total incompetent campaigning for president and every other word out of his mouth is a lie. He supports our enemies in Russia, calls people dirty names, and is now tied in the polls … He talks of change and of making the country great again. He is a real-estate developer who knows nothing about government. He is similar to a guy in Europe in 1924 who painted houses. He too convinced a lot of people.
Today we have talk of emails, Benghazi, corruption, hate, and generals until it’s coming out of our ears. Our dissatisfied nation agrees and eats it up. Why? They’re so ready for change they accept the sick relationship with Putin and Russia and even agree to a large extent.
This talk can be treasonous, but they don’t care. Were they to appreciate and be grateful for what they have in this great country, perhaps they would think differently. Whether they realize it or not they are protected from terror, for the most part, the like of which has ravaged France, Germany, and the Netherlands. They eat on a daily basis unlike many in Africa and other places in the world. They have opportunities others do not have, yet they want change.
They should be thanking God for their opportunities instead of whining. These people wanted change in 2000 and got it. They also got something else in 2001 – Sept. 11. Now in 2016 they may get it again and just imagine what will happen. All the false promises will fall like a house of cards.
In 1924, and for 10 years thereafter, you know who accepted the trash talk? The less fortunate and uneducated class. You want to be party to that, then vote for Trump. You now have about 50 days to think about what ‘sucker punching’ will do to you. Remember what you have and be grateful. Otherwise, you may choose to lose it all. Buy false promises and you deserve what you get. We have problems as a country and always will. There are no easy solutions. We must face these problems with intellectual honesty. Don’t feed into nonsense.
Cape May – The number one reason I didn’t vote for Donald Trump was January 6th and I found it incredibly sad that so many Americans turned their back on what happened that day when voting. I respect that the…
