Reader Takes Offense at Publisher’s Column

To The Editor:
Leave it to Art Hall to slip in an attack on Democrats right before the election, under the guise of a Thanksgiving message from the very dead President Grover Cleveland. Says Hall: “It seems fitting to mark the coming holiday, and to remind ourselves in preparation for the election how far from our traditional reliance upon God our national leadership has led us.”
Of course, Hall cast no stones to inform us how exactly, or specifically, how the ungodly Democrats have led us astray from the Creator. Couldn’t you man-up and cut-and-paste a few examples from some right-wing web sites like you usually do to form your opinion? Wall Street Journal? Fox News? Glen? Rush? Somebody on the right has got to have some ammo to back up your claim that, I infer…all Democrats have led us down some evil path and away from our reliance from God. Who knew?
Is it the Obama health care plan to try and provide coverage for all Americans, even the poor? That’s so ungodly?
Is it trying to end two wars started and mismanaged by God-Fearing Republicans? Is that it? Heathens.
Is it passing a financial reform bill to put the breaks on the financial suits the next time they drive people to unemployment and the economy down the drain? Is that it? Satan worshipers.
Placing women on the Supreme Court? Begin the Inquisition!
C’mon…you just can’t make a pre-election statement like that and not give your readers some examples or some facts so the unwashed heathen Dante’s Inferno-bound Democrats throughout the land can see the error of their ways, repent, and once again offer heavenly praise before they dig-into their Thanksgiving turkey…just like the saintly Republicans.
Note to readers: I asked Hall for some examples in an e-mail, but no response…probably out buying his holiday turkey.
