Providing Him Services Was Misplaced Act

By DiSimone

To the Editor:
Osama Bin Laden showed no mercy to the thousands of innocents he murdered in a rampage of terrorism spanning virtually the entire globe. This over the several years he and his terrorist associates attacked our homeland and several other countries of the world as well. While there is comfort to know justice has been done by executing this madman by the unceremonious act of putting a bullet through his head, there are some unsettling issues that remain. Why was he accorded a religiously based “service” of any kind? He has done the same for the thousands he killed. He did not give any credence that he has any “religion” at all since his despicable acts ran afoul of Islam and all other worthy religions of the world.
Was our government seeking to do the “politically correct” thing for this evil slime? He mocked the very religion he sought to co-opt
by his actions. Indeed the Allah of the Muslims would be repulsed by this man, his actions, and his terrorist followers who seek to harm innocent folk in the name of Allah.
We are thankful this chapter is closed. We still feel the sting of his multiple atrocities and that will never really go away. Neither though do we “rejoice.” The solemn act thus done has its place in history along with the rightful demise of vicious despots. We shall not dwell on this but move on. We know others will follow in his path and they too will find similar ends.
As for our conducting services for this terrorist and the purported purpose of not inflaming the Muslim community, the fact is Al-Qaida has killed 80 percent Muslims of all the 100 percent of murderous acts committed. Maybe providing him services was a misplaced act.
