To The Editor:
Thank you for the Prison Talk column. I’d also like to thank you for your story on Rob Seitzinger and his efforts supporting the troops.
Before I made a stupid mistake and ended up in prison here in Georgia, I lived in Cape May County. I grew up in the county and went to Middle Township High. From 2002-2005 I was in the army, and in 2003, I was deployed to Iraq for 15 months.
People may think differently of me now, being a felon, but before that I was a war veteran. It’s the care package that Seitzinger sends that encourages the soldiers. I’ll never forget the packages I received during my deployment, and the letters from strangers thanking me.
I just wanted to say thanks for your newspaper, as it is the only way I can see home. “Prison Talk” is steering me in the right direction, and I strive now to do better.
Happy holidays to you, your staff, and the rest of Cape May County. God bless. My prayers go out to all the victims of Hurricane Sandy back home.
