To The Editor:
How do you thank someone who has treated your child with such love, honor and dignity? Words will never be able to express our deepest heartfelt thanks.
Doug had the uncanny knack of knowing who the good people were. Those with character and honor, and those are the people he wanted to be with. That’s why he chose to join the rescue squad and why he stayed. They took him into their family and their hearts. They supported him every step of the way and he blossomed under their care. They are truly the most loving, kindest group of people we have ever met. We couldn’t be prouder that Doug was a part of their family. They took him under their wings and helped him soar. We will be forever grateful for the way they treated him from the beginning to the very end.
And Linwood, “Woody,” what can we say about him? We thank God every day that Doug had him as a friend. Woody, Stacey and Jessie took him places he would never think of going himself and he always had a blast. They gave him the time of his life and he will never forget.
So, to all the members of the Upper Township Rescue Squad, we will continue to spread the word of what such good and caring people they are and what they have done for our son.
As broken as they are, they will forever hold a place in our hearts.
