To The Editor:
It has come to my attention that Assemblyman Nelson Albano, (D-1st) is holding up the posting of Bill A-1152 in his Agriculture and Natural Resource Committee. As some know, this bill has to do with the removal of fish traps off the artificial reefs that recreational anglers paid for. The New Jersey Artifi-cial Reef Program is a very important program for recreational fishermen.
Recreational fishermen raised the monies for this program and now the presence of commercial fish traps goes against the spirit and intent of the New Jersey Artificial Reef Program. Also, these traps have been determined to be a violation of the US Fish and Wildlife’s Sport Fish Restoration Program’s regula-tions and policies. This will cost the State of New Jersey money from the federal government. Albano needs to get with it and post the bill.
It amazes me how politicians forget to do the work of the people once elected. Please post bill A-1152 so it can be voted on.
All New Jersey anglers will be monitoring his ac-tions concerning this bill.
