To The Editor:
Ralph Bakely and John McCann have taken another step in their efforts to maintain a weak Republican Party in Cape May County. Along with the support of the county Republican leadership, they have ousted many of the long-time Republican faithful by forcing them off of their column for the upcoming primary.
The objective all along has been to create a weak and divided Republican Organization that can be controlled. Don’t be fooled and don’t let this happen. Loyalty is being repaid with hypocrisy and lies. Bakely and McCann should be ashamed of themselves, they don’t deserve to lead. I want my Republican Party to grow and support conservative ideals and values. I don’t want it spending money from the Cape May County Republican coffers to destroy Republicans.
I refuse to allow it to deteriorate through the abuses of poor leadership attacking long-time public advocates like Gerry Thornton and Sue Sheppard who stand up for what is right. They don’t want to make it about the issues, because they don’t vote on the issues. They are told how to vote and are willing to do the bidding of others who are using the party for there own gain.
I’m not leaving, and I won’t give in to the bullying or the intimidation. I’m behind Thornton and Sheppard because it’s time…time for the courageous to stand up and make things right.
