To the Editor:
I am not usually one to write letters for great service but I feel that I need to write about the exceptional service I recently received at Cape Regional Medical Center.
Going to the emergency room (ER) is often scary but when you feel your life is on the line there are no words to express how grateful you are to have the best medical professionals taking care of you. From the moment I arrived, the ER staff worked so quickly to find out what was going on and had the best surgeon, Dr. Tenner, there immediately to work his magic!
I, of course was not happy to have to be admitted to the hospital but I think scared was more what I was feeling. No need to worry though, as every single staff member on both PICU and 2 East were there for me and anything I needed. Every single staff member (nurses, assistants, physicians, aids, etc.) introduced themselves at the start of every shift and assured me they were at my call with the press of a button, as well as constantly checking to make sure I was doing OK, or if I needed anything. All of my nurses and their assistants showed great concern for my comfort and, having worked in the medical field myself for many years, I know their concerns for not just myself but other patients was truly caring.
I was in longer than I would have ever thought but I owe that to my surgeon and physician who only had my health in mind and I am ever so gracious to them for everything. I, as I am sure any would be, did not want to stay as two days turned into three and so on but their approach and bedside manner assured me this was the right plan.
I will be sending a thank you letter to Cape Regional as well (mentioning everyone by name) as these medical professionals truly deserve recognition. I know Cape Regional often gets a bad rap but they don’t deserve it. They have come a long way and their excellence, knowledge and professionalism show that. I will forever be indebted to these people and hope they realize how special they truly are. Thank you for everything!
