Key to Election Turnout Rests with Undecided

By Hollis

To The Editor:
The Democrats’ strategy going into the November elections is to go on the stump every day and claim that if the president had not put his economic plans into place the national economy would be far worse than it is now. Yet many Americans believe that the economy is worse because of the plans and actions of this president. However, neither assertion can be confirmed or disproved.
The key to final election turnout rests with those voters who are undecided about whom to believe. They don’t trust either party. One way these voters can decide is to look at the principles by which an economy rises or falls and see which party historically embraces the principles that lowers taxes reduces burdensome regulations on small businesses, supports our military and reduces spending. One party has never embraced these principles and the other one espouses these principles but have often strayed from them in past years.
So historically voters had to make some difficult choices. I can’t speak for the progressives, but I know that in many past elections conservatives have had to hold their noses to vote for the establishment-bred Republican candidates.
At least this time, through the efforts and patriotic works of the Tea Parties across the nation, conservatives might be able to make that choice without as much angst. And if the voters of this country are successful in November in halting or severely slowing the mad rush towards European-style socialism, then the real work of restoring honor to the nation will begin.
So from now until November there will be stump speeches on every media outlet by the Democrats trying to convince the undecided voters that our economy would have been worse if the president had not performed his magic. And in November these voters will have to go to the polls and vote for who they believe is right for the country.
